What We Believe
- The scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings.
- There is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, a divine Trinity.
- Jesus Christ is both God and man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin, Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins, arose bodily from the grave and ascended into heaven.
- The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify Jesus Christ; make men and women aware of sin, righteousness and judgment; transform the believing sinner; and indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service.
- Mankind was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore, lost. Only through transformation by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.
- The shed blood of Jesus provides the only grounds for transformation and salvation for all who have sinned. Therefore, only those who receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit and have become children of God.
- Those accepting Jesus Christ as Savior should repent of sin, confess their faith in Christ and be baptized (immersed in water) into Jesus Christ.
- The church is the body of Christ on earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and exists to glorify God by bringing salvation to the lost and by making disciples of the saved.
- Communion, the Lord's Supper, is a vital part of the believer's personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It should be observed each Lord's Day when the church assembles for worship.
- There will be a bodily resurrection of the dead, of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.
