What is Cornerstone Series?
When masonry foundations are laid, the first stone set is called a cornerstone. This first stone anchors, aligns, and provides structural integrity to the building. How well that first stone is set will determine the stability of the rest of the building over time. This same idea applies to our faith. You will often hear that Jesus is our cornerstone, but how do we make Jesus our cornerstone? That is the goal of the cornerstone series. Each class equips us to align our lives with the way Jesus lived, loved, and served others.

Why This Seminar Matters
Physician-assisted suicide is becoming one of the most serious medical, moral, and pastoral issues facing churches in Illinois.
As our culture increasingly presents death as a form of compassion, Christians must be prepared to respond with truth, wisdom, courage, and the love of Christ.
This three-hour seminar will examine physician-assisted suicide from both a medical and biblical perspective. We will explore:
-
The medical realities surrounding physician-assisted suicide
-
Whether assisted suicide meets the standards normally expected in medicine
-
Biblical truth regarding suffering, dignity, and the sanctity of life
-
How the church can faithfully care for those who are:
-
Terminally ill
-
Elderly or disabled
-
Lonely or afraid
-
Struggling with despair
-
Feeling like a burden to others
